9/25 Celebration of Life

September 25 @ 4:00 pm - 9:00 pm

As we gather on September 25 to celebrate the life and legacy of our namesake, Dolly Parton, we invite you to join us for our Celebration of Life and Memorial Parade through the French Quarter. All events are free and open to the public.

  • Gather at 4:00 PM at the entrance of Armstrong Park (Rampart and St. Ann). Memorial Parade departs at 5:00 PM and proceeds through the French Quarter. Please no throws, no floats, and no motorized vehicles. Our board will lead the procession with the Krewe of Dolly banner and a brass band, followed by costumed Dollies, another brass band, and then our fellow krewes, friends, and everyone who wants to celebrate Dolly’s life with us. Costumes and krewe attire are of course welcome!
  • Proclamation at 6:00-6:30PM at the New Orleans Jazz Museum (400 Esplanade) with Helena Moreno, Mayor of New Orleans, Molly Marker, Dolly Parton Imagination Library State Representative, Dr. Melanie Clark, parent, DPIL and Executive Director, Elan Academy, and Lauren Haydel, owner, Fleurty Girl
  • Join us for the After-party at Blue Nile (532 Frenchmen). Doors at 6:00 PM, show at 6:30 PM.
  • All ages are welcome for the Memorial Parade. Note the Blue Nile is open to guests age 21 and up.
